5 Ways to Fix Error 0xC0000001

How fix Error 0xC0000001: Windows 10 OS is the preferred OS and users also encounter different errors for which the reasons vary. Boot Manager Error code 0xc0000001 is again a common error that many Windows 10 users face often. In order to continue with their workflow they need to resolve this issue and this article will help them learn the methods that can be helpful. Error 0xc0000001 can occur due to different reasons and the main reason is corrupt system files or memory.

Also, the reason for this error can be missing/corrupted SAM system file which means – Security Account Manager File.

Ways to Fix Error 0xc0000001

1. Using Advance repair options

  • Switch OFF your computer
  • Restart computer
  • Press – SHIFT+F8 which will direct you the screen shown below

  • Click – See advanced repair options
  • On your next screen, select –Advanced Options.
  • From Advanced Options, select- Windows Startup Settings.

 Here you can see this button – “Restart”. Just click on that button and allow the wizard to complete the steps. Remember, it will fix your PC without any modifications done.

 

2. Run CHKDSK

In case there is any issue with hard drive the built-in Windows CHKDSK features completely scans the disk and then eliminates the system errors in the file. The below steps will help you run CHKDSK:

  • Start – Windows install disc
  • Once you select the appropriate language, time & key board input, simply click – Repair your computer.
  • Select – Windows installation drive, which is mainly  C:\ and  click – Next
  • Choose – Command Prompt when System Recovery Options box shows up
  • List the commands and then click – Enter.

In case the method stated above doesn’t help you solve the issue, and then contact the Windows customer support.

 

3. Fix error 0xc0000001 by Checking hardware devices

Even external hard drives connected to your system can result in this error.

In order to repair this issue, shut down your PC. Now disconnect the external hard drive and remove them.

In case you have USB device for installing Windows 10, make sure your BIOS is already set to boot the PC from USB.

 

4. Check RAM

Check if you have added new RAM modules recently. Sometimes adding a new RAM module can also cause the boot error. Modify the RAM modules to check if it is the real cause of this error.

 

5. Copy the SAM File from the Repair Folder

In case you couldn’t log into Windows, just copy SAM file via – C:\WINDOWS\repair to C:\WINDOWS\system32\config.

In order to accomplish that through Windows Install CD, open- command prompt, and then enter the following-

copy C:\Windows\Repair\Sam C:\Windows\System32\Config

When asked – whether you wish to overwrite original file, type – “Y”
