Method – 1

The method is suitable for all types of browsers

  • Open the browser you are using for example Chrome etc
  • Now open your preferred web page/website
  • Minimize the window of your web browser so that both desktop and browser are visible to you.
  • Head to address bar on your web browser
  • Drag – small icon (lock shaped), globe icon or info icon present besides web address to your desktop.

 

Method – 2

The method is suitable for all types of browsers excluding Microsoft Edge

  • Open the browser you are using for example Chrome etc
  • Now open your preferred web page/website
  • Right click – web page and select Save As/Save page as or simply press – Ctrl + S keys using your keyboard
  • You will see a window saying – Save As
  • Select- Desktop
  • In the box File name – enter the name you wish to choose for creating internet shortcut
  • Click on- Save

Method – 3

The method is suitable for all types of browsers

  • Open the browser you are using for example Chrome etc
  • Now open your preferred web page/website
  • Right click on web address present in the address bar of the web browser and select- Copy (in this case ensure that the URL or web address is selected)
  • Close/minimize – web browser window
  • Right click on desktop and head to New and select- Shortcut
  • Right click on- location bar and select- Paste so that you can copy the link of the website you want into location bar
  • Click- Next
  • Type any name for the shortcut
  • Click- Finish

 

Method – 4

  • Open the browser – Chrome
  • Now open your preferred web page/website
  • Look for the options button to the top right
  • Head to – More tools and select – Add to desktop
  • You will see a window that appears saying – Add to desktop
  • Here you can change/edit internet shortcut’s name if you wish to.
  • Click – Add so that the shortcut is saved
  • You can see a catchy icon added to the shortcut

 

Every one of us love to visit our favourite pages again and again but for that we don’t want to hunt them over the Internet again and again. Sometimes you may bookmark you favourite webpage/website but going all through browser menu to find the favourite bookmark is time consuming. In all such cases you can just create a shortcut to your favourite website on your desktop and simply access the webpage without straight from the desktop. It becomes easy to start enjoying being on your favourite webpage right after you start your PC and visit desktop.
